Speaker – David Moore, Executive Director of the Alliance Against Homelessness (AAH)
  • Homelessness still an issue in Bergen County, mental illness and self-medication are partial reasons
  • Success story – woman rebuilt her life while living in AAH and is now moving on
  • AAH owns 5 homes (4-5 residents in each) and runs 50 apartments in the area
  • Biggest challenge are addition issues
  • $500K budget – 10 staff
  • Residents are identified often from shelter referrals
  • Average stay in AAH – 7 years
