“The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence
plus character - that is the goal of true education.” (Martin Luther King. Jr.). I like this quote because being
an educated student is to think deeply and that's how a student will succeed. I have learned a lot fall quarter.
I struggled with some of my classes especially Microeconomics because it was hard to understand the
concepts. I was blessed to pass this class by studying really hard and successfully passed my other classes
as well. My GPA was 3.09 for the fall quarter. In the winter quarter. I am going to take Macroeconomics,
Accounting 202, Business Calculus, and Hip Hop Dance. I will have to work harder because each quarter
my classes get tougher.

I work in the fitness center at Clark College. It is a good, fun job and I enjoy working there because
it is a good way to practice my English. I saved enough money to buy my own supplies for school. I also
had a good time during cross country season and I had to sacrifice my time to make it onto the team. The
team had an awesome season, we were 4th in the championship final and I finished 5th for the team and
44th in the race. I'm thinking about doing Track & Field in the spring quarter because I want to keep
running. I hope Track will be fun too.

Last month in December. I was at the bus station waiting for the bus to go home from school. There
was an old man who got dropped off from his bus. After a couple minutes he fell down and stayed frozen
on the ground. I called the C-Tran security, but could not find them. I went to the buses' office to let them
know. Then one of the drivers called police, they came to check him with an AED, took care of him, and
transferred him to a hospital. Thanks to God that man was okay, I am glad he made it back.
After my final exam, I had a trip to Disney World in Orlando. FL with Rachel Vinciguerra's family. I rode
all the roller coasters which were so amazing. My favorite ride was Avatar's Flight of Passage which is a new ride.
Going on vacation to Disney World was a fun adventure. I really enjoyed this trip. Also, it was my first visit to
Disney World.

I am very thankful to you for all your support. Thank you for believing in me and continuing to support me
with my education. You are in my prayers as always. I hope you have an excellent year 2018 and you succeed with
everything you do through the year. Happy New Year!!! Thank you

Best Regards,

Patrick Carrier
