  • Host annual dinner for house recipients – includes mortgage burning
  • New homes given to families have a dedication ceremony
  • Habitat not only builds the house but is also the banker – issues mortgages
  • 325 families in Patterson impacted by program
    • Tens of millions of dollars in investment required to bring community to standards enjoyed by neighboring communities
    • Habitat started rebuilding homes in the ward as an initiative to begin turning around neighborhood
    • As more homes have been rebuilt, neighborhood begins to feel safer
    • 2008 market crash had significant impact to home values in ward
    • Working in partnership with other property owners and organizations (e.g. City Green) – helping create a calming effect on a difficult neighborhood
  • Habitat for Humanity in Patterson annual budget is ~$4 million
