Speaker - Sgt. John Chuck from the Ridgewood Police Department – Growing Drug Epidemic
  • Only homicide in Ridgewood was in 2010, person taking oxycodone was driving on highway 17 and fell sleep, killing a person. 3.5 years in prison
  • One of 43 officers in county specializing in drug addiction
  • Xanax and alcohol have same effects on the body and are a big problem
  • Availability Uber has decreased alcohol-based DWI
  • Wisconsin traffic check findings – 85% of 150 people stopped had drug intoxication
  • Categorize drug use into several areas – e.g. inhalants/dust-offs, doctors/psychologists oversubscribing oxycodone or selling prescriptions
  • Patterson – highest concentration of heroin and fentanyl in the country
  • Ridgewood – 5-10 narcotic saves per year
  • Garfield – 5-10 narcotic saves per week
